The Rolf Method of Structural Integration
Structural Integration is a method of bodywork developed by Ida P. Rolf, PhD. Dr. Rolf was inspired by yoga, homeopathy, and osteopathy. Unsatisfied with conventional medicine she explored alternatives, to heal her self and loved ones. As she developed her work, she found that manual manipulation of soft tissue, allowed the body to be more upright. As bodies became more upright, maladies within the system became less troublesome, or resolved themselves as a result of the process. The process is a 10 session series designed to minimize strain and holding patterns in the body, to allow an upright posture to emerge.

The effects of this work are synonymous to a balanced yoga practice. The body feels less stiff and moves with greater ease. My experience with yoga led me to Structural Integration, hence the name, yogabodywork.

Getting rolfed has helped me much like yoga has. I keep at this yoga because of it's benefits. If you would like more information on getting rolfed or doing yoga, you can contact me here.
